The Walk, Hiranandani Estate : Thane’s New Food Junction

‘The Walk’ is the new shopping arcade which has come up in the midst of the sprawling Hiranandani residential apartments in Thane.

As the name suggests – ‘The Walk’ is restricted only to pedestrians and vehicles are not allowed inside this arcade. So you walk around and enjoy the bustling atmosphere.

Haiko Supermarket is the main attraction here for shoppers who visit the supermarket to refill their groceries and other daily essentials. Westside has opened up a big two floor outlet and it is definitely going to attract the shopping enthusiasts.

The Walk is getting more popular not because of Haiko or Westside but for the number of restaurants which have come up.

The moment you Walk in to ‘The Walk’ – you will be welcomed by KFC and Pizza Hut which have opened up their outlets next to each other. Aromas takes up the next spot.

Bombay Avenue with its multi cuisine offering is the next one on the same line.

The outlets of Chaayos, Starbucks and South Bombay adjacent to each other adds to the restaurants’ list.

Chaayos and Starbucks gives the tea and coffee lovers their favourite hangout destination.

For foodies who are looking to savour the South Indian cuisine : ‘South Bombay’ gives you options to dip your hands in Sambhar, Chutney while enjoying hot dosas along with a filter coffee & Don’t forget ‘Idli is the most nutritious breakfast in the World’ ;).

Opposite to ‘South Bombay’ you will find the place famous for cappuccinos: “Café Coffee Day”. They are still standing tall and countering the latte attack from Starbucks.

Pastry lovers will be happy to see the ‘Theobroma’ hoarding next to the CCD outlet. Theobroma has opened their first outlet in Thane at The Walk. The place which is famous for its pastries continues to appease the sweet tooth of foodies.

Wok Express join the party with their Asian cuisine of Chinese, Thai and Japanese. The online reviews have not been great for Wok and they will definitely have to work their way to get more customers to walk into Wok.

Agent Jacks and Sandys Bar Library are the two liquor serving joints.

Sandys Bar Library gives you good selection of beverages but have limited starters / finger foods on their menu.

Busago is another name which pops up above the CCD outlet. Busago serves Chinese, Burmese, Thai preparations.

Non vegetarians’ must visit restaurant – Kareem’s have opened up a 30 seater outlet with an open kitchen.

The restaurant line up does not end here. There are more restaurants which have opened up on the first floor galleria with an open space in front of them.

Chef Harpal Singh’s Dhadoom, Charcoal Biriyani, Café Amigos, Keventers Milk Shakes and Apsara Ice cream have occupied the first floor space.

Rainforest and Pop Tates are the other two names which will be joining the Walk.

The Walk has a lot to offer for Foodies. It will definitely be worth Walking around and checking out these restaurants before settling at one of them to have your food.

It will be interesting to see how all these restaurants are going to get their pie of business as it is going to be cut throat competition with so many restaurants with varied cuisines available next to each other.
