WhatsApp – Whose brains are behind this App?

Whatsapp is now an integral part of everyone’s life and is on its way (along with WeChat,Line) to reduce/replace the use of SMS. There are lot of people who are changing their normal phones so that they can start using Whatsapp. It has brought sharing messages, images and videos on to your finger tips. The New daily record of Whatsapp : 10 Billion + messages sent (inbound) and 17 Billion + messages received (outbound) by users = 27 Billion + messages handled in just 24 hours!

This is how it looks like under the ‘about’ section of Whatsapp website:-

“WhatWhatsApp Inc. is an early stage technology startup founded in the heart of Silicon Valley. What does the name mean you ask? Well, WhatsApp is a pun on What’s Up in case you didn’t get it yet:)

Who:

WhatsApp was founded by two guys who spent combined 20 years doing geeky stuff at Yahoo! Inc. before starting WhatsApp Inc.”

Jason Koum and Brian Acton are the brains behind ‘Whatsapp’. They spent their time building a service people wanted to use because it worked and saved them money and made their lives better. The best part of Whatsapp is that there are no ads and they don’t think of getting advertisements in the near future as the motto of Koum and Acton is to ‘avoid ads’.
